Happy Friday, friends! I hope you had a lovely (albeit, weird) Thanksgiving. With Turkey Day behind us, we can transition into the Christmas season guilt free! Doing it before Thanksgiving always feels wrong to us Rices.. To that end, below is a very disorganized list of gift ideas and Black Friday sale picks. I hope you find it helpful! Promise next year I’ll get my act together to post a real gift guide… until then, enjoy this jumbled mess 🙂
Gift for Littles
I created Amazon Lists filled with our favorite toys. So far, I’ve compiled two lists: this one has gifs for kiddos 1-3 years old and is filled with Ted’s faves. This one has toys for kiddos 4-6 year old and is filled with Chickie’s faves that Teddy can’t swallow– an important consideration for big brother and sister gifts! See below for my favorite picks divided by age.
Little Kids (1-5)
You can’t go wrong with Picasso Tiles. Big and littles alike, LOVE the modern magnet building blocks. Walmart has them on sale for $57 (down from $150!!!) Para mi gente de Panama, Miniatura los tiene a 10% de descuento con envios gratis!
This foam pogo stick makes for an AWESOME gift, also for big and littles alike. Both of my kids got it when they were 1 (I mean, Ted “got it” from the closet but you get my drift.. haha) and LOVED. Chickie is 4.5 and still plays with it… honestly I’ve ben known to go on it, too! 🙂 Easy to fold and pop in the closet. Win, win 🙌🏽 Miniatura tambien tiene el pogo stick!! Lo encuentras aqui.
If your kids are obsessed with random house cleaning items (mine are) I’ve got the cutest mini versions for you! All of these actually work, which its the icing on the cake. Ted is OBSESSED with this cutie (fully operational) leaf blower and I’m getting this toy Dyson vacuum today (linked the best priced option here, but also liked it in my Amazon shop, in case you are a late gift purchaser and need the fast shipping.. we’ve all been there!)
If you have a truck obsessed kiddo, this will be Teddy’s big gift this year: a cute activity (machine washable!!) rug that comes with 49 wooden play pieces including vehicles, play people, buildings, animals, traffic signs and more. It’s on sale for $60!
Resin alphabets are a super fun way to learn letters! My good friend’s Etsy Shop has that and many other homemade cutie letting gifts! We have an upper case alphabet that Chickie LOVES! Will be purchasing the lower case version soon as she’s been mixing up the lower case b and d.. the belly vs. butt struggle is REAL haha.
Bigger Kids (5-10)
This year, Chickie got this bike for her birthday and it’s been a wonderful purchase! She received this scooter for Ted’s birthday (akaher Big Sister Anniversary) and it’s been an absolute HIT. Teddy got it too and it’s really the perfect scooter for them to grow into! Currently on sale for $70. Miniatura lo tiene aqui.
Right now, she’s VERY into this fort building kit— a perfect gift to keep the kiddos entertained indoors. I recommend you purchase two for optimum building capacity. This option is ver similar to ours but on sale. Miniatura lo tiene aqui!
As we head into the colder months, you can’t go wrong with a trampoline. I can vouch for this one— even Hubbs can jump on it no problem and it fits two kiddos at a time! Options on sale here and here.
We’ve had so much fun playing board games now that Chick is a little bit older. Life Jr. is perfect for kids ages 5-8, as is UNO. We have this cute Frozen go fish (half off) and it’s one her favorites, as is this rockin’ dinosaur board game. This Peppa memory game looks really fun, too!
Real Big Kids (10 and on)
Age 10 is when board gamin’ with your littles gets fun. Catan Jr. looks SO FUN I can’t wait to play with my nephews! The adult version is one of our favorites. Risk Jr. and Clue Jr. are great options as well. Guess Who? is always so fun! (and it’s on sale) as is Cranium!
I got each of my sibling’s homes this giant craft library. A perfect gift for older kids, especially while in virtual school. You’ll never have to buy art supplies again! I’ve never seen it so cheap. Miniatura la tiene un poco mas chica aqui.
Lots of lego sets are on sale at Target. You can find them here.
Gifts Ideas for Him
I’ve also compiled an Amazon list filled with gifts for Dads, Grampas, brothers and all the other wonderful men in your life. I’ll be adding to it through the holiday season as I find more Amazon gems.
This golf net has been Hubb’s favorite gift ever. I got it along with this chipping net for father’s day earlier in the year and it’s gotten SO MUCH USE. Cannot recommend enough! My dad will be getting it this year ❤️
Air Pods are such a good gift! Target has them 25% off for Black Friday making them $120. The Air Pods Pro (with noise cancelling) are also on sale for $200 (typically $250). I have the cheaper ones and LOVE THEM. They’e been the quarantine MVPs, no question. If you wanna get real fancy, throw in a a personalized leather cover.
I got this Serena & Lily Cozy Flannel Robe for #HandsomeHubbs last year and it was an absolute HIT! He still wears it everyday. The quality is AMAZING and the robe is machine washable. It’s 20% off right now with code TOGETHER. They also carry matching PJ’s which I may or may not be purchasing this year…
If your home has an outdoor space you’d like to continue using through the colder months, this outdoor space heater would be an amazing present for your partner. Hubbs has been making some (not so) subtle hints that an outdoor space heater is what he’d like for the holidays.. if you don’t have outdoor space but still want to get into the heating action, this table top fire pit is the cutest! Personal s’more maker anyone?
Golf course gift cards are a GREAT gift I always make sure to stick in Hubbs stocking. Call your local golf pro and ask!
Finally, if your guy is anything like mine, he will LOVE this set of old fashioned glasses complete with a decanter. Code MERRY gets you a discount and free shipping.
Gifts Ideas for HER:
Mom, bestie, mother in Law and more importantly, yours truly 😆 I’ve also compiled an Amazon List on this, if you’re looking for quick shipping affordable items. I will be adding all szn long!
I love personalized gifts. You can’t go wrong with a cozy monogrammed robe. Discount code is MERRY.
My favorite clean skin care brand, Follain, has the best gift packs this year. Their re-fillable everyday soap is my go-to teacher, sister, mom, auntie, cousin gift. I have one in every room in the house! The entire site is 20% off today, no code needed.
This monogrammed cross-body bag is dreamy! Shipping is fast, even with the personalization which is a huge plus. If you want to get real funky, you can add a colorful strap (monogramming available on these as well). So fun!
We get this calendar for our home each year and it’s AMAZING. Sturdy magnets in the back make it stick to the fridge all year long.
These cozy henley PJ’s from JCrew are $50 (originally $100, 50% off with code FRIDAY) and look delightful! I snagged a pair for myself 🙂
Experience Gifts in the era of COVID:
This is something I’ve been giving a lot of thought recently. We like to focus on experiences when gifting rather than things here at #CasaRice but how can we do that in the era of Covid and social distancing? I’ve come up with a couple of ideas for which I get zero commission from, cementing my status as the worst blogger in the world 😂
- OneMedical: A membership to OneMedical’s concierge medicine ($199 for the year) service is a great USEFUL experience based gift of particular importance given the public health crisis. OneMedical seeks to transform the primary care experience providing a TON of services online and connecting you with top notch care when you need it– think middle of the night FaceTime session with a doctor to check out a rash or hear your cough. Covid and Flu tests/shots are offered, too. We enrolled in OneMedical a couple of months ago and have been happy with the experience.
- Melissa Wood Health Membership: Currently discounted from $100 to $80 for the whole year. This is a great gift for the women in your life. I got hooked on Melissa’s yoga + pilates combination workouts earlier in the year and cannot get enough of her short (10-20 mins) but SUPER effective workouts. She’s transformed by body and soul with her intentionality and meditative practices. Cannot recommend enough!
- Wine Tasting Class: For your wine loving friend for family member. We did this for my sister’s birthday and it was a really fun experience. This would be great date night idea!
- Virtual Cooking Class: Another really fun date night idea!
Black Friday Deals
These are the Black Friday deals I’m shopping today:
Madewell: Up to 50% off bestsellers. Favorites include these feminine combat boots, this vintage looking cashmere sweater, my favorite henley sweater, super high rise skinny jeans and this classic sherpa with a twist.
Loft: My favorite dressed up sweats are on super sale and available in multiple colors with code BESTWEEK. I take an XXS on this, so I’d say size down.
Ok, there’s many many many more things I’d like to share but in the interest of spending time with my fam, I will leave you with that. I hope this is helpful! And remember- the goal today and every day is to shop with intention for items you are missing and not just heavily discounted items. I hope you have nice holiday weekend!!!
