I loooove our diaper bag! It’s big enough, has a ton of compartments, a great changing mat and for some reason, Chickie LOVES pointing at the animals. The bag is a kid magnet! I don’t know if that goes in the pro column for you but I swear it’s true! More than once we’ve been out and about and someone else’s kid comes to point/see/name the animals.. ?
Before I settled on our trusty diaper bag though I went through a few different ones and browsed through about a million more so I figured I would share some of my faves! Do you have any of these? How are they? I’d love to hear your thoughts and I’m sure other Mama’s would too! Without further ado, ladies and gettleman (I figured at most one dude is reading this haha ?) I give you.. THE DIAPER BAG ROUND UP:
- LeSportsac’s Ryan Baby Tote AKA My Diaper Bag:
In case it wasn’t clear above, I LOVE this bag! It has two HUGE outside pockets on the side where I keep stuff like wallet, keys, hang sanitizer, emergency binkies, etc.. It also has two big pockets on the sides where I put her sippy cups and my phone! The changing mat is HUGE and thick; it can be cleaned really easy with water and soap. The Ryan Baby Tote comes in a TON of colors too, which I love. Keep in mind this bad is on the larger side, so if you’re looking for something medium or small the Ryan is probably NOT for you. On the PROS side though, it’s ideal for long days out of the house and traveling since it holds SO. MUCH. STUFF. If I’m headed out just for a couple of hours or if I’m particularly feeling my outfit and don’t feel like a 20 pound cartoon animal bag is the way to go, I normally use Life in Play’s Tote Savvy in any of my bags- more on this below!
If you’re in the market for a backpack style diaper-bag the Legacy BFF is a good option. One of my friends has the Legacy BFF and swears by it- especially for traveling. My favorite feature in this bag is probably the thinsulated cooler style bottle pockets! If you’re exclusively pumping or otherwise feeding bottles of breastmilk to baby on-the-go this will be VERY helpful. I had to bring a separate litltle bottle cooler and a couple of times we left it home……. it was a nightmare.
Other features on the Legacy BFF include: an easily accessible “mommy pocket” at the front of the bag, semi see-through pockets so you can quickly find what you’re looking for and something called “crumb drains” intended to keep mess from building up at the bottom of the bag that I HIGHLY suspect doesn’t work one bit hahaha.. BUT, the diaper bag is machine washable so, all is good!
Tory Burch Scout Nylon Messeger Baby Bag.
If you’re looking for a designer-ish looking diaper bag that is still functional, this is my recommendation. The Scout has a TON of OUTSIDE pockets, which I love because there’s no need to open the whole thing to reach your keys, wallet, bottles etc.. Also on the PRO side: the magnetic top flap (no annoying clasp yay!) and that it comes with DAD FRIENDLY a shoulder strap, long enough so the bag can be worn as a messenger bag! Also comes with a changing mat. The big CON for me in this one is that it’s not machine washable but, it IS Nylon so you could always wipe it down. Another thing to mention about this one is that Dad will have no problem carrying it around since it’s all black.
The Tote Savvy is not a traditional diaper bag, it’s a diaper bag INSERT that you put inside any of your traditional purses. It comes equipped with a changing mat and all! Although not great for long days away or for a day of traveling, the Tote Savvy is a great alternative to a traditional diaper bag for shorter outings that allows your to USE your nice designer bags- mine were collecting dust until I got the Tote Savvy. I have BOTH their original and mini versions. The large version works GREAT with my trusty Louis Vuitton never full! I recently bought the mini version to use with some of my smaller bags. I’ll keep you posted on how it works..
