Hi friends! It’s FINALLY that time a year when the days begin getting longer and the cold begins to fade away…slowly. Before we know it, blooms will give way to summer and our collective moods will be 50X lighter. We made it through winter!!!
Of course, when you have kids, this also means it’s time to supplement their closets with weather appropriate items as — provided they are still in one piece.. my kids wear clothes HARD – absolutely nothing from last year fits them. Whyyyyyyy π₯² Of course us parents will continue wearing the same 5 semi-decent weather appropriate clothing items we’ve been using for the past 10 years… Isn’t momlife, great? π€ͺπ€£
I try to be strategic about what I purchase (and when.. the sales right now are π₯). I try to stick with good quality basics that are not overly expensive. The goal is to have a cohesive closet where everything can be mixed, matched and layered. Fun fact: #Handsomehubbs is color blind and building their wardrobes in this way makes it easier for him to dress the babes.
Toddler Boy’s Spring Refresh
Let’s start with my Bear. I went all neutral everything, in an effort to match everything together and with sister because who doesn’t love a good sibling matching moment π Cotton on Kids clothes generally run true to size while H&M is often more on the larger side so I often size down.
Little Girl Spring Refresh
Moving on to Chick – I also went with all neutral everything. I bought them both the same initial hat and water shoes to anchor their outfits to one another. Again the idea here is that sets can be slit up to mix and match with other items in the collection. If you close your eyes and grab two items and pair of shoes from her closet, chances are they will look great together — and isn’t that how all dads dress their littles? π€£π€£
There you have it, friends – updated season appropriate clothing for your littles that won’t break the bank. What should I round up next? I’m thinking family bathing suits or sibling matching outfits.. I would love to hear your thoughts.
